I've actually eaten at this chain restauraunt in two different cities, and none is my own that I live in. Plus I guess I know that they have one in Toronto. Think of it as a buffet that instead of being all u can eat. it charges by the plate. Anyhow I guess I can add eating at the Movenpick, in Munich as well, as that's a hotel which I stayed at but had similar food, and as a whole, the walnut ice cream was as always tasty. Anyhow this is the one in Korea. The last time I was in Korea, I noticed this group of people trekking around the street and figured that there should be this restauraunt somewhere around the hotel in Gangnam where I stay. So getting back into town on friday night, instead of eating at the hotel, which was pretty bland pasta, but for some reason my co-worker liked to eat there. I suggested we go look for this restauraunt. So I asked the conciere at the hotel, and for some reason they couldn't figure out where it was. They suggested that Outback Steak house was similar american style food. I grumbled, and insisted that they look up where it is. They found the address, and told us where it was. I'm not sure where the conciere explained to my Korean co-worker, but I didn't want to go to Outback. And not in Korea, I suggested to my co-worker that we take a taxi there, instead of trying to drive. So we took one from the hotel. It wasn't that far, and ended us running 5K won (about $5) The food was typical, unique, not exceptional, but not particularly bad either. The poataoes and sausage were good, although I'm nor sure about the sour cream and dill sauce. My co-worker and I walked back to the hotel. it was about a 20 minute walk And good after a big meal. Getting back to the hotel on friday night, what did I do. Called another friend, and met her at the New York Cafe (i was surprised that I could even find it) We talked, and then she asked if I wanted to eat. We eneded up at a quite famous, but hole in the wall JiaJiangMien place. Handmade noodles, but no ambiance at the restauraunt. And it was across the street from the hotel. Go figure, so much for a friday night in Seoul. April 4, 2006
